Medical Grade Chemical Peels

Medical grade chemical peels lift away dead and damaged skin cells on the surface of your face.  They promote your healthy skin cells to regenerate quickly and produce more collagen, resulting in a smoother, softer, brighter complexion.

Medical Grade Chemical Peels

A skin peel, also known as a chemical peel, is a cosmetic procedure designed to improve the appearance and texture of the skin. By applying a chemical solution to the skin’s surface, a controlled exfoliation process is initiated, resulting in the removal of dead skin cells and the stimulation of new cell growth. This process helps to reveal a fresher, smoother, and more youthful complexion.

Skin peels can effectively address various skin concerns, including fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage, acne scars, uneven skin tone, and hyperpigmentation. The depth and strength of the peel can be adjusted based on individual needs, ranging from superficial peels that target the outermost layer of the skin to deeper peels that penetrate the deeper layers.

Renewing Your Skin from Within

Skin peels have gained popularity as a powerful cosmetic procedure for renewing and rejuvenating the skin. Understanding the science behind skin peels allows us to appreciate how they work to reveal a revitalized and youthful complexion. Skin peels utilize a chemical solution that exfoliates the outer layers of the skin. This process effectively removes dead skin cells, uncovering the healthier skin beneath and promoting a renewed appearance.

Certain skin peels can penetrate deeper into the dermis, stimulating collagen production. Collagen is a crucial protein that contributes to skin firmness and elasticity. Increased collagen levels can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, resulting in smoother and more youthful-looking skin. By exfoliating the skin, skin peels stimulate the skin’s natural healing response. This prompts the production of new skin cells, leading to cellular turnover and rejuvenation. The result is fresher, more vibrant skin.

Frequently Asked Questions

Skin peels can effectively address various concerns, including acne, acne scars, uneven skin tone, sun damage, fine lines, wrinkles, and dullness.

When performed by a qualified professional, skin peels are generally safe. It is important to follow post-treatment care instructions and choose an experienced practitioner for optimal results and minimal risk.

The duration of a skin peel treatment can vary depending on the type and depth of the peel. Medical grade peels may take around 30 minutes to apply.  You are sent home with peel on, and needs to stay on for at least 6 hours before you can wash it off.

The downtime can vary depending on the depth of the peel. Your skin will peel heavily for 3-5 days in which time you likely won’t be able to wear makeup.

The number of sessions required can vary depending on the individual’s skin concerns and the type of peel being used. In many cases, a series of treatments is recommended for optimal results.

  • Temporary redness, swelling, or sensitivity may occur after a skin peel due to the exfoliation process. This is typically mild and subsides within a few days.
  • In rare cases, a skin peel may cause increased pigmentation or darkening of the treated area. This is more common in individuals with darker skin tones and can be managed with proper aftercare and sunscreen use.
  • Skin peel treatments may rarely result in lighter patches of skin, known as hypopigmentation. This occurs when the treated area produces less melanin. Proper assessment and following post-treatment instructions can minimize this risk.
  • Although rare, there is a minimal risk of infection following a skin peel. Maintaining good hygiene, following aftercare instructions, and keeping the treated area clean can significantly reduce the likelihood of infection.
  • In extremely rare cases, a skin peel can lead to scarring. This risk is higher with deeper peels or if the skin is not properly cared for during the healing process. Adhering to post-treatment instructions is crucial to minimize the risk of scarring.
